Plinio Visona'

IN ONE BAG, OUR ENTIRE HISTORY

Few objects, like the women's handbag, represent much more than an accessory. The handbag, close to the body and carried by hand, under the arm, or over the shoulder, accompanies women through every occasion of their day. For women who are all very different from each other, it holds their universe, secrets, and personality more than any other item. Plinio Visonà understood this well when he founded his company in 1959, still as an artisan. Over the years, his company has established itself in the market by responding to, and often anticipating, trends. From the beginning, Plinio Visonà realized that attention to detail, combined with high-quality leather and a design that is simple, original, and always current, would propel his brand forward. The 'simplicity' of this concept still embodies the professional legacy of Plinio Visonà: a distinctive aesthetic that requires only periodic, subtle yet sophisticated restyling to keep the handbag always relevant.

THE SECOND GENERATION

Mara and Davide Visona'

Plinio's children, Mara and Davide, have decided to enhance the Visonà legacy with awareness and a desire to continue along the path set by their father.

The Human Factor

The Visonà siblings constantly engage with their collaborators, just as Plinio would have done, because every suggestion or insight, when driven by a love for the craft, is valuable and unique. Knowing how to choose high-quality leather, light and soft to the touch. Knowing how to shape it and transform it into an object of desire. It involves a 'physical' relationship with the material—the leather—to be contemplated and assessed, to be touched and smelled even before deciding on its shape, color, and intended use, before any detail, stitching, or metalwork is applied. Before every cut, which will be precise and aligned with the nature of the leather.

The energy of Yellow

Visonà has chosen yellow as its signature color. It is a tribute to the ancient buildings of Italian cities, with their unmistakable light. A special, vibrant shade of yellow is featured in every collection as an identifying and recognizable hallmark: Visonà yellow.

Selleria stitching

It is the distinctive mark of all the collections, the Visonà stylistic signature. With patents and trademarks registered, the unique stitching is inspired by the world of saddle-making and imparts an aura of craftsmanship to all the creations. In the 1970s, Plinio Visonà, a master artisan, created this stitching by hand. Later, he designed and patented a machine to produce the famous stitching 'in series.' The Visonà Stitch, as it is now called, is for us the signature of Plinio Visonà and represents a strong, symbolic link to the origins of this company and its founder.

Made in Italy for Visona'

Plinio Visonà, even before the term 'Sustainability' was coined, worked with respect for the working environment, which has always been at the core of the company. The company has long adhered to all the sustainability standards required by the market. Leather tanning is one of the oldest forms of recycling, using a material that is unusable for food purposes as its raw material.

Visonà operates with a 'horizontal architecture' organizational structure, with departments in constant communication with one another. It functions as a mechanism where each component contributes not only to the production cycle but also facilitates internal communication, which is crucial for achieving common and shared goals.

The presence of women at Visonà constitutes 95% of the workforce. The skilled and capable hands of the Master Artisans are essential, combined with sensitivity and delicacy—qualities that are inherently feminine—for assembling bags and accessories aimed specifically at a female audience, who will appreciate the value of the craftsmanship.
